The Goa Swimathon 2023 is back!
Spectacular beaches, rich cultural history, and delicious food are all the key reasons that made Goa India’s most popular holiday destination. But over the last decade, Long-distance swimming is on the rise in India, and Goa, due to the clean water on its beaches, has once again gained popularity as a destination for water sports in the country.
From Ironman to swimathons, Goa attracts sports enthusiasts, both beginners and professionals, from all over the country and the world at different times of the year.
The first Swimathon, promoting sea swimming in Goa, was organized by Enduro Sports Goa, pioneers of India’s best endurance events, in 2011 with total 17 participants. Since then, each year the participant count has been on an increased with the highest of 600 participants recorded in Swimathon Goa 2019.
Announcing the 11th Goa Swimathon in Jan 2023, Enduro Sports Goa has partnered with Beleza by the Beach Luxury Resort in South Goa to bring joy, thrills and challenges of open water sea swimming at Betalbatim for the participants of Goa Swimathon 2023.
The stunning Betalbatim beach, located in South Goa, right between Colva and Majorda beaches, has stretches of soft golden sand and offers beautiful sunrise views. This beach has clean water which makes it the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely swim or for swimathons like this one.
The 11th Goa Swimathon has five racing formats including 250 m sprint, 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km long distance races with the following minimum age limits respectively: 8 years, 12 years, 14 years, 16 years, and 18 years. Participation is welcomed for both beginners and professional level swimmers.
